   Article needs a lead. Although there are introductory paragraphs, they cover new material rather than summarize what is below. For example, the yarn bomb quote should be moved to the body of the article.

   "First using crocheting as part of her art in 2003, and crocheted the windows of a burned-out, abandoned building near her 2005 residency in Utica, New York.[10]" - sentence needs a subject and verb.

   I've done a complete overhaul of that part: it was implying the windows were her first project, but she did student work before then. Working on that now.

   Despite the fact she's going to exhibit at the Smithsonian, I can't find any critical reviews of her work. The only commentary on her work seems to come from reporters who don't specialize in art critique.

   Has she written about her motivation or conception of her work?

   The closest to that seems to be the 2009 quote, can't find anything else comparable.

   What medium did she use prior to 2003?

   I can find mention of her prof liking her student work that involved crochet, but nothing about her other works, aside from what's on her official website.

   When did she immigrate from Poland to the United States?

   Can't find any sources for that. If I tweeted her, and she replied, could I cite her tweet?

We are almost done:

• Technically, the lead should only contain facts that are included elsewhere in the article. Please consider moving the "Her creative philosophy is that "Life and art are inseparable."[10]" to the Career section, and then summarize her entire creative philosophy in one or two sentences in the lead.
• Please fix the [citation needed] in the second paragraph of the "Career" section.
• I would make the title in fn 23 upper and lower case.

I'm really sorry for stalling on this, I didn't realize how much of the subject I hadn't explored, before submitting the article for review. In trying to find the most definitive explanation of her first works using crocheting, to solve the citation needed tag that I had placed on the fact, I found one page that lead to another, including complex artist statements that would require me attending a fine arts university program to be able to condense.

To try and reference some of the things highlighted in her early biographies is impossible. One of the events, a festival in Philadelphia, I really can't find any reliable references to it existing. Obviously, I've left it out. Anyway, here's my updates and expansions. -- Zanimum (talk) 00:53, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Olek → Crocheted Olek – We have a pile of hatnotes indicating there are other "Olek" topics, including multiple people with that as their first or last name and also a place. I don't think that this artist is WP:PRIMARYNAME, but instead should be moved to a more specific article-title and leave a disambiguation page here. Lede says she's " known professionally as Crocheted Olek", so that is a natural-disambig choice for her page. DMacks (talk) 14:32, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

• Support: This topic seems relatively obscure (about 17 views per day, some of which may be accidental due to the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC naming of the article) and as the article says, the artist is "known professionally as Crocheted Olek" (see, e.g., the titles shown here and here), and there are several other notable Oleks. —BarrelProof (talk) 17:49, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

I would like to request changing the name of this article to "Olek" instead of "Crocheted Olek." The artist is not professionally known as "Crocheted Olek," but just as "Olek," which can be demonstrated through multiple reputable sources, including the New York Times () and The New Yorker (). • Support per nomination. Subject's own website, which is appended to the article, depicts this artist's professional name as simply "Olek", not "Crocheted Olek". "Crocheted" has, indeed, been used a number of times as Olek's descriptive adjective, but the single name "Olek" as the actual professional name is also confirmed by links which reference her. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 04:05, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
• Support, obviously. As the person who created the article, I'm not sure why I didn't choose the artist suffix from the start. She was using the nickname early on, but ever since moving to the United States many years ago, it has been simply "Olek". -- Zanimum (talk) 22:22, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
