Sybil Tinkle.[edit]

Just wanted to thank Wikipedia for being the first resource directory to report that Olive's real name was not Sybil Tinkle. I have tried for years to get reference books, sites, ect. to correct this. Everything Wikipedia reported in this article is true and can be backed up through census records. I personally taked to Olive's cousin Natalie Joyce years ago and she said that Olive Borden was Olive's birth name. My question is what happened to the real Sybil Tinkle? Army service[edit]

I recently published a novel about her called "Joy Girl." For this, I ordered her military file, and she was never posted anywhere.

In fact, she was kicked out of the WAAC/WACs for disciplinary problems (she had an episode where she mixed Nembutal and alcohol and ended up at Walter Reed, also for hiding alcohol in her area of the barracks). After which, she drifted further into poverty and alcoholism. Her military file is #A201285, ordered from the National Military Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, MO. Actually, I misspoke. From Fort Des Moines, where she went for Basic Training, she was posted to Bolling Field, in Washington, DC.
