Interesting: - The original hook is not interesting; many professional athletes play multiple sports in their youth. However, I would say ALT1 is interesting. Even though it's a small newspaper, being named athlete of the decade is still a feat.

Overall: Overall, I'd say the article and nomination looks good. I would recommend ALT1 over ALT0. I'd also like for someone else to double-check the QPQ status as I haven't done many reviews. Thanks for reviewing, Significa liberdade. FYI, that QPQ check tool just shows that I've had more than five DYK credits; the WP:QPQ is the review itself. And the license of the photo I took (Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International yadda yadda) is visible on the file page (yes, not the highest quality – plan to visit another match in a couple weeks).
