O Malley?[edit]

Just watching a 'Dave Myers in Egypt' thing, where he watches this dish being made aboard a cruiser on the Nile. According to the chef, the name is an Egyptian corruption of the Irish name O' Malley. A woman bearing this name became the lover of an Egyptian nobleman at some point in the last century and invented this dish for him. It became popular locally, and then nationally. Adding in eggs[edit]

In the description of the steps to creating the dish, I believe eggs should be included with the addition of milk (and cream). Eggs are not mentioned outside the context of butter pudding, though they are in fact a staple of this dish. Dulce0041 (talk) 03:37, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
