Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedy deleted as being recently created, having no relevant page history and duplicating an existing English Wikipedia topic, because... It would be premature to delete this page.

Just do a search on "Omega 7", and look at all the products out there. Many of which are derived from sea buckthorn, which contains both palmitoleic acid and palmitic acid. It needs to be here for the sole purpose of disambiguation.

The concentration of Palmitic Acid from sea buckthorn sources contains upwards of 40% of Palmitic Acid (which is bad for you), and exceeds the concentration in those preparations of the “good fatty acid”, Palmitoleic Acid.

Please advise the best way to handle a situation like this. I appreciate your help.

Redirect to Palmitoleic acid. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 18:32, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Since palmitoleic acid is just one type of omega-7 fatty acid, I think that redirect would be misleading. The article needs to be rewritten from scratch to reflect that this is a class of compounds, rather than just one. I therefore created a new stub at omega-7 fatty acid (all new content, but slightly different title to be consistent with other omega-3 fatty acid, etc.). -- Ed (Edgar181) 18:44, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
