English title of the movie

[edit]

The original title of the movie in Russian is В бой идут одни «старики». Firstly, notice the quotes around старики. This is to signify that the word is used in its jargon sense ("most experienced people"), not literal sense ("old men"). So the English translation of the title should keep the quotes. Secondly, the phrase "men are going to battle" can be understood as "men are about to battle". However, the original says идут в бой, meaning these men are entering the battle / joining the battle / going into battle. Therefore, the correct English translation of the movie title is Only "Old Men" Are Going Into Battle (using Wikipedia's convention of straight quotes). — UnladenSwallow (talk) 20:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Plot Summary

I moved the info from russian Wiki page, however I'm most sure my translation is terrible. I happen to know Russian, but my English is downright awful, so I'll be very glad if somebody could help with fixing the grammar. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.154.199.172 (talk) 09:48, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
