Optical opacity

[edit]
Resolved

Opacity (Environmental) - is the attenuation of light. As a light source of intensity "Io" is transmitted through a medium, particulate within the flue gas blocks, i.e, attenuates, the energy of the transmitted beam resulting in beam of less intensity "Ir". The difference "Io - Ir" is referred to as the amount of opacity. Ddelmo (talk) 19:00, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Ddelmo (talk) 19:06, 5 January 2008 (UTC)JATT PunJAbi Manny singh[reply]

That should go into the article and make it more than a disambig page, certainly. Also of note, I think the under used word "Pellucid" is the opposite of "Opaque", since "translucent" is a measure of some kind of passage of light but not a tendency in that regard. 67.5.157.160 (talk) 08:42, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That usage is now covered under the link for Opacity (optics). Jason Quinn (talk) 18:46, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
