hi, i typed "opencandy" into the searchbox, and the only result was mediacoder, but by typing the usual wikipedia address followed by /opencandy i found this article, is search broke, slow update or what ?

sorry, but i do not know how to fix this.

I can confirm, that upon downloading ESET Smart Security 4.2 ignites a warning, that MediaCoder 2011 RC3 (build 5060) installation file contains OpenCandy. Maybe MediaCoder could be placed onto the 'Applications known to use OpenCandy' list. Anyhow, this blog article enlists way more applications that uses OpenCandy than the current Wikipedia article: http://cranialsoup.blogspot.com/2009/05/opencandy-new-kind-of-adwarespyware.html Hardzsi (talk) 09:28, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

link in reflist is broken, but another wp-er added good link. how delete bad link?

in edit mode, i don't see anything resembling links. so i can't even remove the wrecked link.

Bad link is retrieved 2009 cnet

Good (and clean) link is "retrieved 2010-12-23" cnet

(I searched wp externally and internally for reflist info, but found only some long pages or other. none seem to show how the actual links are hidden/pointer/huh? when in edit mode. (or how to work in unhidden mode))

EDIT: ok, I tried editing url params then realized the "root" edit shows the references inline with text.2z2z (talk) 04:48, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

Trillian

According to the Trillian article, Opencandy has been removed from Trillian. Should we update the list here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.240.74.46 (talk) 22:22, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

SMBX

I just tried installing SMBX and MSSE just reported that the program installer uses OpenCandy. I didn't finish the install, but quarantined it on my computer. Tito151 (talk) 05:01, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

iChat

How does iChat contain OpenCandy which is a Microsoft Windows installer?

Facts Needed.

This article is fairly poor in facts. No dates are given, and actual threats posed are only vaguely mentioned. My experience with OC is that nothing extra is installed without consent. Snooping the Registry is a concern, but a lot of S/W installs do that, too. Interestingly, MSE gave OC a bad rap, despite M$ being their biggest customer! OC is not in the same league as the highly invasive Babylon. Try getting that rubbish cleaned out!220.244.141.7 (talk) 01:09, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
