Opera Awards. Suitable references, citations and further content.[edit]

For comment and review please.

Appreciate the opportunity to amend and improve the page. Many appropriate links and additional information has been provided for clarity and substantiation.

References: This page has received considerable effort to link to appropriate and credible Australian sources of information as references. The Opera Australia site makes reference to individuals that have received the Opera Award but not the award in isolation. Newspaper articles place higher priority on the individual than the actual Opera Award - hence providing verification of the actual award.

Any suggestions to improve the article welcomed.

Hi there. You need to make this article a lot clearer. You have a table of winners and at the same time say that there are several awards. Have these singers all won the same award, and if so is it the YMFA Award? I'm going to remove the "Proposed deletion" tag, as I don't think the article's deletion would be uncontroversial now. But this doesn't mean that it won't be taken to an Deletion discussion if an editor still feels that notability has not been established and seeks a wider opinion. You really need to do more research to find independent coverage of the award itself, not simply mentions of people who have won it, especially since none of them appear to have articles in Wikipedia. This coverage can be in books and journals and it doesn't have to be online. But then you must include full bibliographic information including exact page numbers. Also, future editors must make sure they don't copy-paste from the awards official site. It's a copyright violation and will be removed on sight by other editors. I've already removed a chunk [1] and the remainder is quite closely paraphrased. Voceditenore (talk) 07:47, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
