Suggestions for improvement[edit]

I have completed the B class checklist and I know the rating seems a little harsh, but I couldn't seem to give it a pass for anything. There is a lot of information in the article, but it is let down massively by issues of style and organisation, etc. Anyway, some suggestions for improvement:

  • Referencing: in line citations, at least one per paragraph for a B class;
  • Coverage: there are large blocks of text that appear to have been taken word for word (and aligned strangely - making it difficult to read). These should be replaced with a neat, well written thematic discussion of the topic;
  • Structure: the article needs a concise introduction that summarises the whole article, followed then perhaps by a Background section, and then sections on the individual battles, an Orbat perhaps, Aftermath, etc; also notes, references, see also sections should be included;
  • Grammar: to be honest I couldn't read most of it, the structure was too painful on the eyes, so it will need to be reassessed when or if the article gets fixed up;
  • Supporting materials: images and or an infobox (if you need a template for an infobox, take a look at Operation Ambassador and copy the coding.

Just a few ideas. There is a lot of information and I'm sure that it is largely useful, it just requires someone with some sources (sorry I don't have any, otherwise I would do it myself), to sit down and take a bit of time reworking it into something that can be digested more easily. Hope this helps anyway. AustralianRupert (talk) 01:38, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm in the process of updating Operation Veritable, so I'll look at this as well (Blockbuster was the final stage of Veritable). There are solid sources. A quick read suggests that some of the info about the state of the Canadian forces belongs elsewhere. I'll consider this. Folks at 137 (talk) 08:39, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ranks[edit]

In 'The Battle of the Rhineland' section, para 10, among other edits, I have changed 'Lt/Cpl' to 'lcpl'. As far as I know, there is no such rank in any army of 'Lt/Cpl'. If it is wrong, please change it RASAM (talk) 22:48, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Killed in action numbers[edit]

"The Rhineland battles would become Canada's most costly campaign, over 40,000 were killed in action in the Rhineland." There is absolutely no way this is correct. Canada's total fatalities for the entire war were 45,000.Shipman7 (talk) 23:18, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
