Death of Captain Ayton[edit]

Addition by unidentified person. Placed here until conformation of facts can be provided in proper citation format and the article is rewritten.

a memorial service is held every year for captain Phillip Ayton who stepped on a land mine on the way back to the beach and died the following day in England. This information is from a Jersey news paper dated last week of sept 2012 where the whole storey of the raid was told.
