People's Coalition logos[edit]

I put here this message that I published on Impru20's talkpage:

I explained that People's Coalition was comprised at a national level of AP, PDP and PL, not only AP. You said that "the other parties are not required here", but under what reason you say that? The thing that the AP was the major party doesn't represent the fact that the other two parties were also presenting candidates at all constituencies (even more, you could take a look at the paper ballots and posters from that year, and clearly do represent all three party logos, like this, this and this, because that was the coalition logo [a combination of the three logos]). I answered this to Sfs90:
It has been already explained. Logo used is that of AP because it was the Coalition's main party and because there is no logo for the Coalition itself, but the link used is not that for AP, but that for the People's Coalition, that includes all three parties (AP, PDP and PL), and even regional parties that did contest the election within the Coalition (UPN). It'd be redundant to list the links for the other two parties separately when there's already a link to the Coalition article itself (and given that a link to AP's article is not shown). Thus, it has no sense to list the other two parties because there's already a link redirecting to the an article which includes all three parties. I agree on the logo issue, but so far there isn't a logo for CP to be found in the Commons (at least that I've found). I'll no issue, however, if you go and find a suitable logo for CP.
It is simple. There is a single article for the People's Coalition, as the member parties did not contest the election separately but within a single, national list. And the Coalition was, indeed, intended as a permanent electoral alliance (being the precursor to the current PP). The example put for Podemos is not the same. En Marea, Compromís-Podemos and En Comú Podem have their results shown separately from Podemos' main list at the national level, and did run their own candidates (only that later, for simplicity, the aggregated results for all of them are shown, also mirroring what reliable sources and the media do). That is why for 2015 the logos for the three regional coalitions are also shown. As well as because some opinion polls did show results for those separately (another difference with CP). It's not the same case. The only issue, in any case, would be the logo used, which is that of AP (due to an absense of a CP logo). I've no issue if someones goes and finds a suitable logo for CP. I founded (and uploaded) a logo of CP, and that was printed in the ballot papers in 1986. You can see it here and the ballot paper. I replaced the AP logo with the CP logo. Regards. --Sfs90 (talk) 16:32, 14 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
