ORU delivery constraints is a large factor deciding on possible extensions to ISS operations.[1] eg p29 "19" mentions the critical dependence on the HTV capabilities and availability. Perhaps that belongs in the main ISS article somewhere ? - Rod57 (talk) 11:37, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What are max dimensions of ORUs

[edit]
ESP-2 updated FRAM ORUs

The numbered ORUs on ESP-2 have similar shapes. Are there ORU design rules that specify the max size/shape/envelope ? If so could mention in article ? (eg. is the shape shown required to fit in the shuttle payload bay ?) - Rod57 (talk) 13:36, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The existing ref : Robotic Transfer and Interfaces for External ISS Payloads June 2014 could be used more for the post-Shuttle constraints. - Rod57 (talk) 10:49, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Could rename to reflect restriction to ISS ORUs and neglect of HST ORUs

[edit]

Since there is no mention here of the HST ORUs - unless there is any suggestion that ISS ORUs can be used on HST or they share specifications should we rename this to Orbital Replacement Unit (ISS) ? - Rod57 (talk) 11:53, 8 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Start with a hatnote here to (renamed) Orbit Replaceable Unit which is about HST ! - Rod57 (talk) 14:28, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Shuttle press kit URLs dead

[edit]

the shuttlepresskit.com links dont work - did they ever ? Can they be restored or fixed ? nasa.gov still has some eg STS-133 - Rod57 (talk) 13:23, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

FRAMs - where

[edit]

Is this the best place to describe the FRAMs used on ESP/ICC and ELC ? What types are there ? - Rod57 (talk) 14:23, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

More images would be helpful

perhaps similar to those used in https://qr.ae/TcqVOe (answer to https://www.quora.com/Are-there-features-on-the-ISS-that-are-broken-beyond-repair) eg to show the various attachments used on the ORUs. - Rod57 (talk) 10:08, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The existing ref : Robotic Transfer and Interfaces for External ISS Payloads June 2014 has helpful diagrams. How to refer to/use ? - Rod57 (talk) 10:54, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Smaller ORUs

[edit]

Smaller ORU's (eg Remote Power Control Modules) are only mentioned as possible contents of the three Cargo Transport Containers. Where can we find a list of the 'smaller ORUs' and an inventory of the contents of the three Cargo Transport Containers ? - Rod57 (talk) 10:16, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
