May 2009 edit placing Ordbend on a rail line[edit]

Even though you cite what at first glance appears to be a reliable source for your addition to the article, can you please re-read Durham's California's Geographic Names and see from where he sourced his information? It was from a topographical map published in 1949! Just because one has a source does not mean that it is still accurate after 60 years.

If you had actually read this article, you would have seen that it was already noted that this community's name started as a station on the railroad, however this rail line has been long abandoned. Please check any Web mapping service (Google) to clearly see that the line has been abandoned a long time ago. Accurate information was already in the article. Edit is reverted because it is no longer accurate. Highspeed (talk) 04:51, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Ord Store[edit]

It was still in operation in the summer of 2002. I had a friend who worked there. I'm not sure when it closed though, but it was later than the 1990s as previously stated. ~~Floracalifornia —Preceding unsigned comment added by Floracalifornia (talkcontribs) 03:58, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
