This revised version, while introducing organic residue analysis, provides a detailed overview of its object of study, field of application, and importance in archaeology, thus addressing the problem of the original introduction being too brief. I removed some of the technical jargon, like "pre- and post-depositional events," and replaced it with more general language like "from a wide range of activities" to avoid confusing non-expert readers.
