Article not finished[edit]

I'm pretty sure this article shouldn't end mid-sentence! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.184.250.33 (talk) 13:48, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ori and origin of replication[edit]

Why are there seperate pages for ORI and origin of replication?

If a difference exists between the two terms, the explanation is surely missing. If not, then the term 'Ori' should redirect to the 'Origin of replication' page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Martin fed (talkcontribs) 13:40, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this is a valid remark. I also just noted down that the main article says "origin of replication", which is technically correct, but then claims that the name is oriC - and people may be confused as to why the "C" suddenly appears there. The C stands for "chromosomal origin" but technically, that is just about the same as origin of replication in a bacterial chromosome right? Either way it is a bit confusing right now, still almost 10 years after the above comment. ;) 2A02:8388:1641:3580:BE5F:F4FF:FECD:7CB2 (talk) 17:19, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 4 October 2016[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Not moved and no action. As noted by Pppery, if a merge is appropriate it would be discussed elsewhere. I think WP:AfD, since Ori is a slightly different topic from Origin of replication, and yuo'd have to get consensus it wasn't independently notable.  — Amakuru (talk) 15:18, 12 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ori (genetics)Origin of replication – Both the articles are about the same topic, so what is the need to have to two different articles instead of one. Ankit 17:20, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wrong venue requested moves is not the place to suggest merges. Pppery 19:29, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
