First drop length.

I am not disputing this, not at all, but I am having trouble understanding how Orion's height is 287-ft., yet the first drop length is 300-ft. Now, I can understand how this is true for some other coasters, where say, there is more land underneath the track. But in Orion's case, that is not true. Just solid ground. I've studied the picture/artist's rendering of it, & just can't comprehend where the almost 15 extra feet comes from? Can someone help explain this, please? The land is not flat. The first drop goes into a small valley. Look at the fourth photo on this page: WGN TV construction photos.JlACEer (talk) 00:22, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
