Worthiness of encyclopedic entry[edit]

Hello,

by reading this bio I really struggled to understand why it is worthy to be on Wikipedia: I´ve read it three times and no, nothing; I really can´t grasp the relevance of this person. He was only a random headmaster of a random school in a random town, and I don´t detect anything extraordinary really done by him; neither ordinary to be honest. On top of that, it has even be selected as a "good article", what? Seriously? By this meter I should write the biography of the rector of my gymnasium and of my elementary school; why not also a bio of the 5th headmaster of 3rd school from the left in the Bezirk of nowhereburg of the duchy of whatdahell?

Please if not delete this voice at least have an honest thought on it.

@2001:7D0:4EC0:D180:E5D5:251F:D2F2:F5C8 Hi and thanks for the question. Beatty is notable under point 6 of WP:NACADEMIC: The person has held a highest-level elected or appointed administrative post at a major academic institution or major academic society. In this case, said highest level is the office of present, and Centre College is a significant accredited institute of higher learning; further, this notability is shown with the use of reliable, independent, secondary sources in the article. As for the rector of your elementary school, he would not be automatically considered notable under this guideline because school teachers at the secondary education level, sometimes also called professors, are not presumed to be academics, though he could still be notable if he satisfies the general notability guideline for some reason other than the position he holds.
While the article has been promoted to the status of good article and featured article beyond that, its subject was irrelevant in those discussions. Article quality and sourcing are the main things checked by those processes, and their criteria can be seen here (GA criteria, FA criteria).
