De-orphaning[edit]

Revirvlkodlaku, because it is not an orphaned article so I deorphaned it which is clearly summarised in this edit with an edit summary of Article deOrphaned!? Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 01:32, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your question can be interpreted in 2 ways, firstly, you are asking me the meaning of deorphaning an article, secondly, clarify why I think the article can be deorphaned?

1) The article is an orphaned article per Wikipedia:Orphan and has the Orphan tag. I removed the tag as the article is no longer an orphan or wrongly tagged as one, hence de-orphaning.

2) Per the what links here link from the side, this article has at least 1 incoming link, hence not an orphan article. The article Mawuli School has a link to this article.

Hi Justanothersgwikieditor, thank you for the explanation. I think you overthought that a bit, certainly when you pointed out that you had de-orphaned the article since...it isn't an orphan. While you did mention that in your edit summary, you didn't mention what led you to the conclusion that it wasn't an orphan, which is what I was asking. Hi @Revirvlkodlaku,

As I said as a comment of my change, this is the way he is referred to in this source. I also found a source where he is named Oscar Mawuli, so Mawuli is his first lastname and Awuku his second. Then the correct order needs to be his first lastname. Daehan (talk) 13:30, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

While that may be a valid deduction, it is also speculative, so unless your theory can be confirmed, I think it's safe to leave it as it was. I don't think it's more likely that he has a compound surname than two middle names. I'm going to revert back to the previous version, and let's try to find a way to confirm which of us is correct.
