Names and classification of languages

[edit]

Across Wikipedia I notice numerous differences in the way the names of languages indigenous to Ghana, are written. I cannot solve these problems immediately, but I will try to find a common name across articles in 2014. Since many of these languages are now taught in Primary and Junior Secondary School in Ghana, it should not be difficult to find out what the official indigenous name of a language is, and if a different name is used in English texts, with proper references to school books. "Native Dagbani speakers assert that Dagbani is mutually intelligible with Dagaare, Frafra, Mamprusi, and Wali."

Dagbani is very close to Mampruli and there is a good bit of mutual intelligibility. It is most definitely *not* mutually intelligible with Frafra and even less so with Dagaare. The languages are roughly as close as French and Italian.
