Since the end of Graeme Souness' reign at Newcastle United F.C. on 02 February, 2006, Ottmar Hitzfeld has been tipped as a possible successor. As of today it would appear that Newcastle United F.C. have contacted Ottmar Hitzfeld if reports coming out of the town of his birth are true (http://loerrach-zeitung.de/artikelhitz.html). Ottmar Hitzfeld has received a groundswell of popular support (http://www.hitzfeldforthetoon.com/)
