From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This school was established in 1968, and was the only English medium school at that time in Aligarh.
It is managed by Catholic Nuns, known for their simple life and selfless service to the mankind.
It has been able to maintain its high standards of Teaching - Learning and discipline all these years.
It has produced a large number of brilliant students who later on got higher qualifications and are excelling in their respective fields.
Even today, when large no of other english medium schools have come up in Aligarh, getting admitted in OLF is a dream come true for a lucky few.

Is it Secondary school or higher secondary school?

[edit]

OLF is a Higher Secondary School.

Good question. I was at OLF from 1972 to 1979 (Class 3 to Class 10, though I did not complete Class 10 at OLF). When I started school there, it was known as Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School, and went from Class 1 to Class 10 (plus nursery/kindergarten). At that time, this was the educational system in Uttar Pradesh (up to Class 10), and OLF followed it.

This remained the situation at least until 1988, when I left Aligarh. A few years later I happened to visit Aligarh (some time in the 1990's, can't remember exactly which year), and at that time I learned that they had also abolished Classes 9 and 10, and only went from Class 1 to 8. I understood from talking to people that this was because of disciplinary problems the nuns had with older kids, and they decided not to bother. I assume that this was the time when OLF became a secondary school (up to Class 8), and was renamed to Our Lady of Fatima Higher Secondary School.

LET ME TELL YOU GUYS OLF IS "OUR LADY OF FATIMA HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL" I KNOW THIS FOR SURE..
