Include more forms of consultation[edit]

The introduction excludes any significant consideration of consulting those with ‘Expert by Experience’.


Often consulting is used as a way for the powerful to fine tune and get more acceptance of their proposals. Marginalised groups are often excluded from decision making that affects them.


Recognising that there are many who have significant informal expertise in an area is important.


Disability campaigners have been active in this area, especially around access issues and medical treatments.


The concept is widely relevant and needs some recognition in a summary page like this.


This perspective highlights the implicit political nature of many consultations where the questions considered often assume the basic proposal is OK and makes it hard to object to the premises it is based on. CuriousMarkE (talk) 06:19, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
