Coat of Arms

[edit]

The summary box makes mention of the Overpelt "coat of arms," but isn't it more of a logo? There are no heraldic principles that are at work here. The town did have a sign once that resembled a shield, but even there I'm not sure the term coat of arms would apply. Axm3000 (talk) 11:19, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies for the late reply, but it is indeed the modern logo used on official documents, streetsigns etc.

The shield logo you mention is in fact the 'coat of arms' and is still recognised as it can still be found on older street signs among other things. —Preceding unsigned comment added by HellFyre (talkcontribs) 14:23, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
