What does this mean?[edit]

"In the 2012 GCSE, the school came second in the whole Northamptonshire. There were only 10 - 12 students within that Year 11 group, so each of them hold 10 - 12% of the whole result."I have no idea what these sentences mean and there is no cited reference.
