Evidence of pre-17th century owl holes would be appreciated

The page says these didn't come into use until the 17th century, but that is highly unlikely. The one in my sister's house in France is believed to be much older, but there unfortunately is no documentation to prove this. 173.49.55.14 (talk) 18:52, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
