Contested deletion[edit]

This is more of a question about the process. It looks like the offending text is the Premise section. If that is removed, or rewritten, would this page be saved from deletion? --Rmaloney3 (talk) 16:57, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the premise section is lifted directly from the apple TV Plus page[edit]

The page can be found here. I've read some of the copyright violation stuff but it's all a bit confusing. KaraLG84 (talk) 20:12, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

KaraLG84, thank you for noticing this, the general rule is that websites are copyright protected and we can't copy text from them onto Wikipedia. There are exceptions, but it is unlikely Apple TV is one of them. I have removed the section and warned the editor. TSventon (talk) 23:09, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Article stillneeds a premise section[edit]

Now the copyright infringement has been dealt with, I still feel that it needs an overview, premise or similar section to describe what the show is about.

Anyone who has watched the show feel like writing that? KaraLG84 (talk) 14:34, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I second the desperate need for this article to include a premise/plot/synopsis section. Loyalkent (talk) 23:06, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

title[edit]

i get that "pachinko" is a metaphor for the way the various protagonists bounce and stumble their way thru history, but in the literal sense: WHERE IS THE PACHINKO HERE?

there's like 10 mins total all season about the game, mozasu's parlor(s), or how he rose to riches. the series basically SKIPS his generation, spending most of its time on sunja and solomon.

was it different in the book, or is "the tale of mokasu" being saved for s02? as it now stands, the title is WILDLY misleading! i was expecting it to be the MAIN FOCUS of the show, a la "Empire" in the music business.

surprised i haven't seen reviews saying "No pachinko in 'Pachinko'..." 2601:19C:527F:A680:59DA:FBBF:C0FE:2E2F (talk) 05:00, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

incest is best![edit]

article claims that hana is solomon's "ex-girlfriend". is this accurate?

i agree it FELT that way on-screen, but given that she's his STEP-SISTER, i would not jump to such wild conclusions short some very explicit references. let's just describe his creepy affection for her as "brotherly love", no? 2601:19C:527F:A680:59DA:FBBF:C0FE:2E2F (talk) 04:51, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

josep[edit]

article says that he's isak's SECOND older brother. say whu? who's the first?

i don't recall them speaking of any third brother. they may have, and i just missed it -- is he also in japan? dead or alive? 2601:19C:527F:A680:59DA:FBBF:C0FE:2E2F (talk) 04:51, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

zainichi korean[edit]

why is koh hansu singled out for this description in the article? almost ALL of the lead characters fall into this category! 2601:19C:527F:A680:59DA:FBBF:C0FE:2E2F (talk) 05:25, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

language[edit]

could a section perhaps be added about use of language in the series? the bi/trilingual nature of most of the cast is shockingly good -- jin ha, for example, speaks flawless japanese despite no background in it whatsoever (i.e., no "grew up in tokyo" or "lived 10 years there while touring with Cats"...).

TOM and one or two others speak incomprehensible gibberish (memorized romaji), but it is a far cry from the 95% like that in any other show of this nature.

more episode descriptions, please[edit]

We are watching with subtitles, and thus not capable of writing episode descriptions. We really appreciate the ones that are here, but would love to see more from y'all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paulehoffman (talkcontribs) 02:36, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
