The Spectator[edit]

The fresh Spectator is quite controversial with content of the article:

Who would clair it plus clean the flaws away? Kartasto (talk) 15:05, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jähmefyysikko (vandalism?)[edit]

Can you Jähmefyysikko explain the reasons for deletion? Kartasto (talk) 12:34, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

With pleasure. I ran Earwig's Copyvio detector and it indicated that your edit was copied verbatim from the reference. (Earwig's report). In the report, most of your edit is highlighted with red on the left. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 12:51, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have the source.
Try better, please, and if you are not equipped with sufficient references, will you leave it alone.
Do you have the sources? Kartasto (talk) 13:11, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your changes break a single paragraph into six different 1-2 sentence paragraphs with numerous grammatical errors and some obscure words. Most importantly, the text is quite unintelligible. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 09:49, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Given that Hamas has been a major political force in Palestinian politics and in tight competition with Fatah, Russia's relations with Hamas are inextricably linked to its relationship with Palestinians as a whole. Both should be covered at the same article. VR talk 00:52, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, it should not. Those are two different topics.
  1. When we as Wikipedia editors say "Russia's relations with Hamas are inextricably linked to its relationship with Palestinians as a whole" we must provide sources that prove it. There are plenty of reliable sources that concentrate purely on the Russia–Hamas relations and not Palestine.
  2. One may see the article in Russian that Russia–Hamas relations topic can easily be covered without any of the content from the Palestine–Russia relations article.
  3. Russia–Hamas relations happened even before establishment of the State of Palestine.
  4. We might not want to mix Hamas and the state of Palestine as half of the State of Palestine do not support Hamas, which was recognized as a terrorist organization by multiple countries and support Fatah which was NOT recognized as a terrorist organization. It might unintentionally show that the entire State of Palestine is related to terrorism which is not true. As experts say: "The actions of Hamas in Israel beg for comparison with what Russian troops did in Bucha, Irpen and other cities of Ukraine". In the context of Russia–Hamas relations sources clearly compare Russian recognition as the terrorist state to Hamas recognition as terrorist organization and they do not do it for the entire State of Palestine and Fatah.
So it's better not to mix both. With regards, Oleg Y. (talk) 13:44, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
