Is this an encyclopedic article or PAF's election campaign ad?[edit]

Right now it looks like the latter. ←Humus sapiens ну? 11:09, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are they in the middle of the Arab-Israeli conflict or in some kind of vacuum? What is their history/leadership/membership since 1968? Any links to Palestinian political violence? The article contains no controversy, no conflicts, no criticism. What is their relations with Fatah, Hamas, PFLP, DFLP, Israeli peace camp, etc? ←Humus sapiens ну? 23:44, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you have any info on this, please add text with source. POV-tag appropriate when there are actual disagreements on the content, if you want the article expanded there is the {{expand}} tag. The article does, however, mention that PAF supported Mahmoud Abbas' election campaign. I agree that some of the wordings in the 'Policies' chapter might be reworded, but its hardly an extreme case (words like "strive" etc. clearly refers to the organization's own formulations, not an outside desription of it). Lastly, my spontaneous guess is that they have common roots with ALF (considering the names of their front organizations), but I have no source confirming that. --Soman 11:54, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The tag is necessary to alert the reader that not all viewpoints are fairly represented, and for editors to fix this. Who that editor would be: you, me or someone else, does not matter much, but until that is done, the tag should stay. ←Humus sapiens ну? 02:14, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I still find this odd. To say the least, there's not much info availible on the web about this group. I've made a serious effort to gather the info I could find on it. Virtually all google hits involving this group is either of the character of joint declarations (of NIF or PLO, etc.) were PAF is one of the signatories or listings of the parties contesting the 2006 elections. My spontaneous feeling is that if this group had been involved in military activities (more than setting up a 50-member militia in exile), there should be records of this availible. If you ask me what is group has done between 1968-2005, my guess would be that it issued lots of declarations.
Again, the POV tag is misused. There has been no intervention on any side to censor any viewpoint. Just assuming that there would be criticism against a political group is not cause for POV-tagging pages. --Soman 07:40, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This article needs to be sourced in English, making clear exactly what the group says about itself, or what others say about it, if anyone does say anything. SlimVirgin (talk) 06:20, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
google has translation from arabic. You can search the relevant articles, and get them translated. --Soman 08:19, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Verifiability[edit]

Speaking of verifiability, I am wondering about the map at [1]. ←Humus sapiens ну? 07:07, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

? The site does not belong to PAF, so what is the issue? --Soman 08:18, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
According to you, it is "PAF 2005 Al-Nakba statement". So what's the deal? ←Humus sapiens ну? 09:26, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
? Its a statement of an organization published on a site not belonging to it. Hardly strange, isn't it? --Soman 10:01, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hardly strange? The map shows the entire map of Israel. ←Humus sapiens ну? 10:07, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So? --Soman 10:45, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vanished history section[edit]

Above, User:Soman recommended to use expand tag, but after it was added, he removed it. What's the problem now? ←Humus sapiens ну? 09:29, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I do not have a problem with the tag, but rather with the wording below. --Soman 09:50, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Palafsymbol.PNG[edit]

Image:Palafsymbol.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
