Gibraltar Controversy

[edit]

Why has this been edited out? The incident was reported in all the UK dailies and there is video of what she said which was offensive. 178.208.220.118 (talk) 23:10, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Rockysantos: @CandidLibraryEditors: There is an element of WP:BALASPS of it. One sentence and the Telegraph reference would be enough IMHO. And it really needs to be put in the context of her Spanish ancestry, otherwise it just seems rather irrelevant. She is not a political figure or has any degree of influence on the sovereignty of Gibraltar. Karst (talk) 18:53, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Early Life section - contradiction of terms about parents?

[edit]

The section begins: Faith was born to an English mother and Spanish father in Hackney, although her parents were both from Norfolk.

This is geographically confusing and needs a rephrase to clarify. The phrase "both from Norfolk" is a vague way to describe two people who apparently had different nationality, and I thought Norfolk was an English county not part of Spain. I note it is cited to a newspaper article based apparently on an interview with her - is it a case of telling "the truth or something beautiful" LOL?Cloptonson (talk) 05:38, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article cited says they both came from Norfolk, and after they split up she "went to stay with him in Spain in the holidays". That suggests he came from Norfolk but emigrated to Spain after she was born? Nowhere is he described as "Spanish" Walshie79 (talk) 23:50, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article needs protecting

[edit]

This article needs protecting indef! A.S.A.P. MissAriArt (talk) 10:24, 25 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • What is your problem MissAriArt? You're undoing changes by someone who is benefiting this page. It is so unprofessional and rude to use the reason "absolute vandalism" to undo someone's hard efforts. This has been reverted by another user also as they agree with me. You are not the only person who is able to edit this page. I'd love to see your contributions to see how you are making this page better? Please explain to me which parts of my edit were vandalism please? I'd like for you to justify your rude comments. Wikipedia is a place that anyone can edit. Instead of just reverting, please discuss here so we can come to an agreement otherwise we will be going around in circles. Why do we need to know about Paloma's birth process? It is sufficient to say that she has had a baby not how it was delivered, that's completely invasive. We do not need to know working titles of albums and previous announcements when an event has already happened. We do not need to know every small festival that Paloma plays at and furthermore four other artists that played at a small festival over 5 years ago. We do not need to know Facebook posts. You have undone Paloma's latest releases which were - up until I edited the page - very out of date. On the Fall to Grace section it stated that it was given a platinum certification when it is now certified double platinum. Why do we need to know that Faith found writing her second album frustrating?? There is just way too much detail in this page that does not appear on similar artist's pages. The numeric characters such as two were written as "2" which is incorrect. Otherwise the mentions of "number ones" would be "number 1"'s. We do not need specific days of events, instead just the month and year is sufficient. It is not a significant date unless it is a birth or death date. So no I am not vandalising this page, I have very good reason to be editing this page that has excessive amounts of unnecessary detailed information. It has been added and added to with no one monitoring it and filtering out the less relevant and significant detail. Judging by your small comment "This article needs protecting indef! A.S.A.P." that is grammatically incorrect, I would say you should stay well clear of this page not me! I am helping this page, you are not. I am just confused as to the hostility of yourself as a user and you should be ashamed as to how you are speaking to people here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.153.21.31 (talk) 13:01, 25 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It appears to have been resolved. Content at this moment is as editor 82.153.21.31 left it. Jim1138 (talk) 21:22, 25 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your assistance, as stated I do not vandalise and am not interested in destroying pages, that would be a pointless waste of everyone's time. I will be setting up an official account soon to help with my edits. But I did feel like I was being victimised by MissAriArt and she should have someone message her about how she speaks to other users. I would not want anyone else having the same experience as it is unfair. I will in future add more detail for what I am doing on the talk pages of articles. I think anyone reading this will know I'm not the bad guy here as I am spending my time writing my reasons here while said other user is now nowhere to be seen. Regards. 82.153.21.31 (talk) 08:28, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Updated Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful section to match the length of the others. Took out specific dates, removed unrequired information about all the talk shows she appeared on (not relevant enough) for an artist page, first tour was mentioned twice, and corrected the capitalisation of 'Number' to 'number'. Thank you. KingOfTheForest24 08:53, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
