rename to Pandit?[edit]

From this article, at least, it seems that the more standard use is Pandit. Should the article be named "Pandit" and be redirected from "Pundit (India)"? I would go ahead and do it but I lack the knowledge of how to do such a swap cleanly. John (Jwy) 19:28, 1 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree.MarcAurel 05:13, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As Pandit seems to be the better name for this article, I'll move it.--Kineticman 02:39, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I couldn't move it due to the redirect having 2 edits in its history, so I listed it at Wikipedia:Requested moves.--Kineticman 03:24, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed diacritics as WP:COMMONNAME in English. Merriam-webster, American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Collins dictionaries have the pandit entry. Also, in the Indian context where pandit is used as a honorific, it is used without diacritics.

Main meaning of the article[edit]

In a way the article is more important for US politics and media than India. Polentarion Talk 15:39, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
