I'll try to get to this with comments before this time next week. If I'm not here, please ping me. --ProtoDrake (talk) 14:41, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ProtoDrake, Boy, that was quick! No worries, take your time. Le Panini [🥪] 15:13, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Review[edit]

Lead
  • Is there a reason the control and peripheral features of the console are only linked in the lead and hardly mentioned anywhere else?
     Done.
  • "The game was followed with Paper Mario: The Origami King, and was released in July 2020 for the Nintendo Switch. " - Is this sentence really necessary? Did Color Splash influence Origami King in any way? Was the reception of one impacting the development of the other? Without any further context within the article, this just seems like an addition from a Wikia.
     Done.
Gameplay
  • In the gameplay, probably use the game's full title in its first mention.
     Done.
Development
  • Wii U should be linked here as it's the console's first appearance in its own right outside the lead.
     Done.
  • There is no mention of Intelligent Systems outside the lead.
Done. No Idea how that happened.
  • The image caption reads too much like promotional blurb, and it has no citations.
     Done.
  • This may sound daft, but for complete novices reading this article, who are Miyamoto and Iwata, and what is their relation to Mario and Nintendo?
     Done.
  • Is there anything to say on Taro Kudo's involvement?
     Done. Found a lil' blurb.
Reception
  • Is there any other source besides Nintendo Insider? If there is, I'd suggest using it as Nintendo Insider's been questioned in GAs I've worked on.
     Done.
    • Also, is there a reason action-adventure is in quotes here?
     Done.
  • "Stephen Totilo of Kotaku called the Paper Mario series..." - I'd rephrase this to "felt the Paper Mario series was", as the current phrasing clashes with the content of the following quote.
     Done.
  • Any word on international sales? Total worldwide sales?
Nope, but found a lifetime sales blurb in Japan.
     Done.
  • From the "Post-release" section Kotaku part, "cool" is too emotive for prose. I think you should paraphrase here.
References
  • Inconsistent use of the "website" and "publisher" citation options. I think you should choose a style and stick to it.
Done. I didn't notice this, but it should be all good now.

This lot may look and sound fiddly, but they do draw the eye when reading the article. I may find more on a future pass, but this seems a good place to leave it for now. I'll put the article On Hold. --ProtoDrake (talk) 22:32, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@ProtoDrake: That should take care of it. Happy holidays! Le Panini [🥪] 16:33, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Le Panini: I think it does need a peer review if you're planning to take it further, but otherwise it seems alright as a GA Pass. --ProtoDrake (talk) 19:15, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ProtoDrake, Maaaaybe, but definitely not right now. I'll be sure to do a peer review and copyedit if I ever make arrangements. Happy holidays! Le Panini [🥪] 17:52, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
