Distribution Map

[edit]

The .png version of the Parastacidae map is currently inaccurate, thus the .svg map is superior. If you still feel like keeping the .png version, please rectify the following errors before reverting:

  1. The northern populations of Cherax are missing. Please include them in the .png.
  2. The range of Euastacus is missing from Western Australia. Please include it in the .png.
  3. Consider whether the population of Paranephrops claimed for Fiji is worth indicating.

More on that last: The article notes that Huxley makes this claim. In his scientific memoirs (available here, at Google Books), he indicates that the two specimens at the British Museum were in poor condition. I can find no indication whether or not he was the one to actually collect them. So it's possible that they were also mislabeled or so degraded that he misidentified them. In the subsequent 130 years since Huxley published, there have been 0 reports of freshwater crayfish for the Fiji islands. Ninjatacoshell (talk) 16:52, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
