The result of the debate was move to Paretz Palace. —Nightstallion (?) 08:44, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

Chateau ParetzParetz Palace - I believe there was a slight error in the translation of schloss to chateau. Chateau is a French word applied to French structures. Schloss is different and is translated as chateau only in French and into palace or castle in English. The foundation that cares for Paretz is that which cares for Prussian *palaces*. Keeping it at Chateau Paretz is akin to Schloss Versailles or Chateau Buckingham. Charles 05:49, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak oppose, depending on whether the quotations in the article were originally in English; if they were, they demonstrate usage. Also, what would you do about San Souci? Septentrionalis 02:13, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • 'Oppose. Article should be resolved the same as the article Chateau Schönhausen. Similar size. Similar situtuation. --Mmounties (Talk) 18:14, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As above, see also official site for use of palace Paretz Palace Charles 06:04, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Septentrionalis, referring to a note in your opposition: Sanssouci suffices as that name alone. It something were to be appended to it, Palace does work, as does Schloss. However, I have only ever heard of Sanssouci in English. Charles 02:34, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I personally prefer Schloss Paretz, but there does seem to be significant evidence that Paretz Palace is also used in English (and even by the official body responsible for the building). It has been suggested on the Talk:Chateau Schönhausen page that a decision on a name change there should have a similar effect on a name change of this page. I strongly urge that a name change for this page be decided here. Noel S McFerran 02:29, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Per the official website. —Nightstallion (?) 08:44, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
