Clarification

[edit]

Guys, was it Michael Parkinson or Billy Connolly who was responsible for threatening to break Rod Hull's arm? - Richardcavell 10:38, 20 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It was Billy Connolly who said it on the Parkinson show. He was the other guest when Rod Hull attacked Parkinson. See the Rod Hull page. --Rrsmac 10:28, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Discovered" Jamie Cullum?

[edit]

It might interest you to know Michael Parkinson's brother is a booking agent for musicians. It was he who punted Cullum (and Meluah for that matter) Michael's way.

Restructure

[edit]

Just a brief note to say that I've been through the article, tidied or added to various elements, and also started a "Trivia" section containing memorable moments. The article now also contains proper reference tags. Chris 42 22:34, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Allen poem

[edit]

The poem that Dave Allen read out on Halloween scared the bejesus out of me as a young teenager. However, I don't think it was ever published, so I don't know its title. If memory serves, Parky offered it to Allen on the spur of the moment, as something that had caught his eye from that week's postbag. This was around 1979. Could anyone expand on this? Good article

[edit]

Want to say thanks to whoever added trivia section- was a good read and sums up what Wikipedia should be about. I'd never read some of those facts before.

Thanks. You're welcome.:-) Chris 42 14:12, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is another, that he served in the Suez crisis. 81.86.76.6 07:58, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Desert Island Discs

[edit]

Parkinson presented Radio Four's Desert Island Discs for some time. Anyone know any details?

Well remembered! I've now added it to the "Other work" section. Chris 42 09:59, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

interviewing style

[edit]

Whover started this section meant well, I'm sure, and it's quite informative, but the tone is a little informal. It's hard to describe something like Parkinson's style in a neutral manner - especially if you're like me, and you're a huge fan - but maybe whoever wrote it initially, or somebody else, should have a go. Needs photo

[edit]

This page really needs a photo of Mr Parkinson on the set of his show or the shows official logo/splash name JayKeaton 00:11, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiprojects

[edit]

For some reason, this article was listed as being part of WikiProject Biographies, but it shouldn't be since this article is about a TV series as the host has his own article. I've switched it to the more appropriate TelevisionWikiProject. 23skidoo 16:20, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Look like TV footage, uploaders of footage do not appear to be either of the BBC 'official' profiles or the respective production companies in respect of the later footage. Where these links to Copyvio? Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:57, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
