All-rounder?

[edit]

Could someone please provide a reference which calls Cummins an all-rounder: his cricinfo profile calls him a bowler. I accept his recent batting is improving, but a bowler who can hold an end up or hit out occasionally is not the same as an all-rounder. Spike 'em (talk) 11:35, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar and spelling

[edit]

Could someone please correct the grammar in the final paragraphs? — Preceding unsigned comment added by TaipanKing2000 (talkcontribs) 06:23, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean the personal life section TaipanKing2000? I've had a quick copy edit of that now - but how is program spelled in Australia? Programme or program? Blue Square Thing (talk) 07:43, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I should have been more specific. The vice-captaincy section.

Does that help? Blue Square Thing (talk) 08:11, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm thinking about Cider?

[edit]

The source for the second nickname for Cummins tells me "Pat Cummins' nickname is "Cider" (think about it…)". I've thought about it, and have no idea what it means. Anyone? HiLo48 (talk) 22:23, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ESPNCricInfo have stated it as a nickname, and having worked around cricket media for years, it is a nickname that is used from time to time, albeit less frequently and on air now, following the Tim Paine sex scandal. It comes from conjoining his surname with his nickname. Just because you do not understand it yourself, doesn't mean it is not his nickname.

Beast01998 - So just explain it. If it's something sexual, Wikipedia is not censored. HiLo48 (talk) 23:45, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Cummins can be broken into syllables that sound like 'Cum ins'
Cider can be broken into syllables that can sound like 'Side her'
Cummins + Cider can sound like 'Cum inside her'
And hence the nickname of 'Cider'

And there are tweets[1]https://twitter.com/ajarrodkimber/status/1161991568208912391?lang=en from well known journalists, that also signal this is certainly the case. Beast01998 (talk) 16:09, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
