Untitled[edit]

I have reverted back to something like the last stub level. The last edit by User:81.158.158.122 is not acceptable for the following reasons:-

  1. It added back the Afd notice when the debate has closed.
  2. It is not properly laid out and is badly written.
  3. It is vanity - using "We .." etc.

If there is no consensus to merge into Traditional Scouting then this stuff is all is that is verifiable and appropriate for WP. --Bduke 00:23, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

As far as I can determine, the Pathfinder Scouts Association is a single group that chooses not to belong either to UKSA or any of the myriad independent associations.

If their philosophy is such that none of the other associations fit, then so be it, but to pretend that a single group is an association and noteworthy is a nonsense!

Whilst the larger independent organisations are noteworthy, I feel that the very small associations (1-10 groups) are probably only noteworthy collectively. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mayalld (talkcontribs) 14:05, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but the more I look at Scouting content and comments by editors, the more this is looking like a witch-hunt against independent Scouting Associations. Regardless of size the Association exists and, therefore, deserves an entry on Wikipedia for anyone interested in knowing who or what they are. That is the point of Wikipedia. This is not an advertising site for TSA/WOSM. --DiverScout (talk) 22:11, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This Association does appear to now be very small, but was larger historically. Having examined the content of Wikipedia, especially with reference to youth organisations that have suffered decline (and, in several cases, eventual closure) I see no reason why this Association should not retain an entry. I am, therefore, intending to remove the proposal to merge next weekend unless I can see a valid reason for not doing so. -- DiverScout (talk) 20:00, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This merge proposal was placed in September 2007. There has been no discussion in ten months, so the merge has obviously failed. --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 20:23, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that it was still listed on the pages seemed to leave that open to debate, so I thought I'd check! I'll see if I can continue to develop this page, but there is obviously not too much on the 'net about the organisation so it may take time. I'll try to use the format used on the TSA and B-PSA pages - if I can get enough detail to fill it. As the RESA is a division of the PSA, or vice-versa, the re-direct for that Association now goes here, rather than to the Traditional Scouting page. -- DiverScout (talk) 10:00, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Pathfinder Scouts Association.jpg[edit]

Image:Pathfinder Scouts Association.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Still active in the UK?[edit]

The text of an article quoted as a source on the WP page, The Independent Scout Movement 1970s onwards. by Reverend Michael Foster says: "The British Pathfinders was wound up in April 1998 after the death of Steve Dudley-Coventry, with badge stocks (the only assets that remained) being handed over to the British Boy Scouts". I couldn't find any information about them on the internet except a charity number quoted on a directory site. Alansplodge (talk) 22:03, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
