"The Silly Nannies dance around a maypole and sing from Gilbert and Sullivan's The Sorcerer."

Anyone knows what's the title of this song? --SoWhy 19:30, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's "'Tis Twelve, I Think" --Alanhwiki 06:13, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone notice similarities between Terrel Owens and this episode

Elizabeth Hurley?[edit]

I just don't get the reference to Elizabeth Hurley in this episode, and there's no mention of it in this article. Does anyone know what it means, and if so, could someone please add it to Cultural References?

Wrightaway 06:29, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE: I just found out what the reference is, so I'm adding it to the article. Wrightaway 18:17, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jay Leno-Tom Brady rivalry[edit]

Another cultural reference I didn't get: is there a real-life basis to Jay Leno threatening Tom Brady in the episode? Both of them voiced their fictional counterparts, according to the end credits. Another Slappywag Among Petorians 22:45, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:FGPatriotGames1.jpg[edit]

Image:FGPatriotGames1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Clemen[edit]

If we're going to have the word clemen redirect to this article, shouldn't we make mention of the word at some point in the article?--Senna27 (talk) 16:02, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It should redirect somewhere else. Google returns over 445,000 results that have nothing to do with Family Guy. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 16:22, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It has been removed. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 21:51, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you planning to get rid of ALL the pics we have in the episode articles? That's crazy, we need them. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 21:25, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed an entry from the notes section[edit]

"* Even though Carol Channing beats Mike Tyson on the spoof of FOX's Celebrity Boxing, Tyson technically won before he fell down exhausted since Channing was knocked down three times in one round."

A knockout occurs when the opponent cannot get back up in a specified amunt of time, usually a ten count. She got back up every time she was knocked down so therefore he did not technically win at all. PhoenixPrince (talk) 03:21, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Opening comment: As requested. The Flash {talk} 20:00, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lead[edit]

  • "It originally aired on Fox on January 29, 2006. The episode has a sports-theme and originally aired around the time of Super Bowl XL." -> "[...]January 29, 2006, around the time of Super Bowl XL, which fit the sports theme of the episode."
  • "Peter goes to his high school reunion and meets Tom Brady." -> "In it, Peter goes[...]"
  • "Stewie becomes a bookie and Brian loses[...]" -> "Meanwhile, Stewie becomes[...]"
  • "Peter wins many games for the Patriots but is fired for showboating and is traded to a team in London called the Silly Nannies. Peter plays versus the Patriots and loses, and returns home." -> move this to before the Stewie and Brian stuff.
  • "Jay Leno, Tom Brady, Carol Channing, Bob Costas and Troy Brown all guest star as themselves." -> "[...]all guest starred as themselves."
  • All done--Pedro J. the rookie 20:41, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plot summary[edit]

  • "Peter is soon fired for showboating: i.e. driving on to the field then performing a massively-choreographed version of the song "Shipoopi" after making one touchdown[...]" -> this is just un-neutral, to me. Try something like this: "Peter is soon fired for showboating, driving on to the field then performing a massively-choreographed version of the song "Shipoopi" after making one touchdown."
  • done--Pedro J. the rookie 20:38, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • [...]and he is traded[...]" -> "He is traded to the[...]"
  • done--Pedro J. the rookie 20:38, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Stewie becomes a sports bookie[...]" -> "Meanwhile Stewie becomes[...]"
  • done--Pedro J. the rookie 20:38, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Combine the last two paragraphs (too short alone)

Production[edit]

  • Move the Mike Henry image to the right, please.
  • done--Pedro J. the rookie 20:34, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • You list three directors here, but only one in the template. Add the other two to the template.
  • done--Pedro J. the rookie 20:34, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • You already linked to Mike Tyson in the Plot summary.

Cultural references[edit]

  • The thing about the Dallas Cowboys at the end of the section is unsourced — cut it.

That scene in which Brian tells Tom Brady he fell down the stairs is a White Chicks (2004 movie) reference, isn't it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by LupusRexRgis (talkcontribs) 11:39, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's not specific to that movie. It's a common euphemism for being beaten up and not wanting to implicate the person who did it that long predates White Chicks. Daniel Case (talk) 21:10, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reception[edit]

Is that better i can't find any more recep.--Pedro J. the rookie 21:33, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
