I'm looking for the best picture or any informations about the KAF's U-6 (Beaver). It seem that the KAF had 3 aircrafts. But in 1971, during the viet cong's sapper attack at the Pochentong Air Base,at least 1 Beaver was destroyed.In 1972 at leat 1 Beaver was refurbished with a new engine. http://www.khmerairforce.com/AAK-KAF/AVNK-AAK-KAF/Cambodia-Beaver-KAF.JPG

I think it should be pointed out that the National Union was an abortive attempt at rallying anticommunist resistance forces for the KR cause. It never fulfilled this purpose, unlike the later Coalition Government of Democratic Kampuchea. Miacek and his crime-fighting dog (t) 13:53, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In fact it appears that after 1982 it essentially ceased functioning within Kampuchea and any value it had was based on presenting a positive image of the Khmer Rouge to foreign observers. I basically cannot find any information about it in English texts after 1982. Is there any information on its activities throughout the rest of the 80's? Did it survive the 1993 elections (or even the withdrawal of Vietnamese troops)? --Mrdie (talk) 15:31, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I remember that in a book I could borrow from my university library - Prince Sihanouk on Cambodia: interviews and talks with Prince Norodom Sihanouk (Hamburg, 1985) - the National Union was mentioned a couple of times and based on that I believe the organization was never realized, probably because at that point, Sihanouk refused to cooperate with KR. Now, I managed to find a document on the Internet where the programme of the Grand National Union has been reproduced (June 30, 1981) - http://archives-trim.un.org/webdrawer/rec/425297/view/Items-in-Indo-China%20%5Bpeninsula%5D%20-%20country%20files%20-%20Kampuchea%20-%20International%20Conference%20on%20Kampuchea.PDF, p. 89 . I also suspect the idea of such a Union was just shelved after they managed to knit together the CGDK. Miacek and his crime-fighting dog (t) 15:53, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
