Citations

[edit]

The first paragraph includes a general list of citations, but it is not clear which citation applies to which information. @109.38.154.213, would you be able to distinguish this? See Wikipedia:Citing sources#Text–source integrity. Significa liberdade (talk) 20:02, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Paul-Henri Nargeolet?

[edit]

According to French sources, as well as those more closely connected with PH, his name is spelled with an "i" not a "y." As such, shouldn't the wikipage be Paul-Henri, not Paul-Henry? Significa liberdade (talk) 23:02, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Besides of this, the "PH" denomination is not adequate, neither is a "Mr Titanic". That last is a private call to the public's emotional awe by one (underpayed) Le Monde editor. The other is an other individual editorial choice, namely of refering to him in a familiar way without bothering typing more than the two characters the readers would become embroiled with. Now these anecdotical choices wrongly appropriated are making Nargeolet appear as a stuntman with pretend publicity titles and a big cloak of feathers. If I'm not misleaded, P.H. Nargeolet, an officer specialising in mine clearance, is a one time director of Michigan State University's Center for Maritime & Underwater Resource Management and not a Mr KFC Chicken fries icon yet. --Askedonty (talk) 09:21, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New York Times article to be used as source

[edit]

The article doesn't make it clear he visited the Titanic wreck 35-37 previously. This NY Times article says over 35 times, other sources say over 37 times. Should be added to article. Also contains a lot more information about him that might be useful for expanding article. May he and the others rest in peace, very sad news.

Incorrect Information

[edit]

There is egregiously incorrect information in this article, particularly about his family. Since the page is "protected", this false information apparently cannot be changed by non-admins. Nicebelt (talk) 23:49, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The page is currently semi-protected. Any user who is autoconfirmed can edit it. You do not need to be an admin. If you have suggested changes as a non-autoconfirmed user, I suggest you make an edit request. Be prepared to provide reliable sources for any change you request. – Recoil (talk) 23:56, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have made some corrections to erroneous information in the family section despite someone insisting on reinstating false information. Hopefully my corrections will remain. Nicebelt (talk) 13:57, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
