Potential scam?

Hi all,

I've been contacted via LinkedIn by an Alan James, who claims to be from Wikipedia administrator's community.

He is claiming he has seen a draft page for review for Paul Richardson and is offering a paid service to update the article. The cost is £1000 and he then sent an invoice for 50% even though I've not agreed to take up his offer.

I assume this is a scam? Please can you confirm if this is the case?
