Too much on 'stonewalling'

[edit]

I found this article through a word search of "Scott Paltrow." He wrote a very good article on the SEC. But I think that what's happened here is that a big section has been pulled out and is now about half the article on this particular SEC commissioner. Hey, I'm definitely sympathetic. But I don't think you can make half the article on this issue, right? JohnnyB256 (talk) 16:59, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Although Atkins is mentioned just two times in passing in the Portfolio article, about half his bio here is devoted to an extremely WP:UNDUE section on "Stonewalling." Wording such as, "Atkins appears now to have benefited in his management at SEC," is POV at best, libel at worst. William H. Donaldson's article had a similar problem, and it was tagged with WP:UNDUE, WP:NPOV, and Template:BLP dispute. In this case, I say it would need many more sources, and possibly a devoted news article on the subject to warrant a couple sentences mentioning this in the section on his SEC tenure, but as it stands now, I'm removing it. It's archived [ here], should someone chose to read it, trim it down, and add more sources for notability.—DMCer 15:25, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

confusion

[edit]

Reading the lead I was led to believe that Atkins is a money manager of some kind, primarily. But the infobox says he's a commissioner at the SEC. If he is a commissioner, that is a pretty important piece of bio info that should be included in the lead. I dont want to fix this because I really dont know anything about Atkins, I just came here to assess the article. But I suggest someone either add that he is commissioner into the lead, or remove it from the infobox.Simplysavvy 07:15, 23 February 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simplysavvy (talkcontribs)
