Ratzel[edit]

How could Vidal de la Blache have influence of such a determinist geographer?? From the beginning, he was one of the maximun detractors of determinism!!89.131.5.91 (talk) 23:14, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

criticisms[edit]

"A notable explanation is that French thought during the Third Republic was dominated by nationalism, which was, arguably, a means of controlling the populations." This conjecture needs to be justified or at least documented. Personally, I find this line particularly weak and unnecessary in an encyclopedic context. --68.173.246.5 (talk) 04:19, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Original research? or plagiarism?[edit]

A large chunk of the article, "The 'Vidalian' program" and "Criticism of Vidalian geography" comes from two big edits by one editor six years ago, and essentially unchanged since then except for typography. These sections express some strong judgements but include no sources. Is this plagiarism? Is it original research? --Macrakis (talk) 00:22, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
