Wiki Edu Proposed Changes

[edit]

I am a student working with the WIKIEDU project, and I want to make four changes to the article.

1. I want to add more information to the section regarding political career. I want to add direct quotes from her I found in news articles in which she used her religion to back up Trump’s policies such as those of immigration. This will demonstrate how she used her religious standing to coincide with her political position to aid the trump administration and reach his evangelical base. I want to add quotes that showed how her presence led to evangelical moments in the White House such as when religious leaders laid hands on President trump, a prayer in which White initiated. I will also like to add that photo to the article. I also want to share more detail into what her White House job entailed.

2. I would like to include the awards she won, and add a section entitled accomplishments. I believe highligting her success and achievements is an important part of her story, especially considering her history of being a stand out woman who divorced. This type of “immorality” traditionally  calls for a disgracing from those who share her faith.

3. I want to add information about what she is doing now. She recently made headlines for being accused of taking from Journey’s bank account, the band of her current husband. It will give readers more insight into what she has been up too ever since President Trump left office.

4. I want to do another copy edit to correctly distinguish which “white is being discussed” which someone mentioned earlier in the article. I also wanted to cite an article that directly says “she was a proponent of the prosperity gospel” to stronger support that claim in the article. Lastly, I want to check for any more changes that I will discuss here first before altering.

What do you think? Evangelizerec (talk) 12:19, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds fine, just remember to follow Wikpedia's policies on Reliable Sources: WP:RS, and Independent Sources WP:IS. For example, her own website touting her awards would be considered WP:SPS and WP:PROMOTIONAL, so if you can find awards in neutral IS's, than that would work. ---Avatar317(talk) 21:36, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I will find another source for her awards. I will keep the sources I use in mind. Evangelizerec (talk) 12:16, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
