Starting TALK discussion
This is a great article—a good beginning. Excellent work. It needs to be expanded with additional sections. Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 15:43, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

Headine-1: Vkontakte Founder Durov Flees Russia With No Plans to Return
QUOTE: “Durov, who said he had resisted months of increasing pressure from the Federal Security Service to release personal information about opposition activists who use Vkontakte, learned about his dismissal via media reports.” ["I'm out of Russia and have no plans to go back," Pavel Durov told Techcrunch. "Unfortunately, the country is incompatible with Internet business at the moment."] — Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 15:48, 22 April 2014 (UTC) — PS: FYI for future editing.

Compilator 89, I get your point about WP:RSSELF, but also believe that the deleted part improved the WP:NPOV. The whole story that included a conflict between Durovs and Rozenberg, the lawsuit, the publications, and the settlement was covered in Russian media. Myuno (talk) 18:44, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
Short description change
FMSky, why the change in short description? Durov's current claim to notability is his status as the founder of the company and similar descriptors are used for other tech personalities. ASpacemanFalls (talk) 13:09, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
Sex videos of Women and Children
While the main article gives details of Durov's standing up to political censorship in Russia, there is no mention at present of Telegram's tolerance of users' publication, both to the general public and in closed groups, of intimate photographs and videos of women and children posted by third parties without the consent of the subject, and its refusal to remove these at the request of the subject, all of which are detailed online by the BBC today. NRPanikker (talk) 15:41, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- How would content spread by third parties on an app be relevant on a page about Durov's biography? The standing up to political censorship stuff is only relevant because it's something he personally did. This doesn't belong in this particular article. ASpacemanFalls (talk) 16:14, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- Providing a platform for revenge videos and paedophiles IS something he personally does, if he owns it. NRPanikker (talk) 01:55, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
- This is an article about a person, not the platform. Care to point to an equal section on Zuckerberg's or Dorsey's pages? Telegram is a messaging service, the fact that people abuse it isn't relevant to the guy who's simply the head of the company, at least not this personal Wiki page. ASpacemanFalls (talk) 12:50, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
- Durov should be gratified that he can arouse such loyalty.NRPanikker (talk) 18:30, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
- Any genuine counterarguments as to why that tidbit belongs in the article? I don't care about Durov or anyone whose Wiki page I edit, I care about keeping the content of the page objective and relevant. If there are no solid arguments, the discussion might as well be archived ASpacemanFalls (talk) 22:58, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
Censorship of Pavel Durov Article
Not only is all mention of his profiting from revenge videos and paedophilia promptly cut out of the main article, with the argument that these are the actions of his minions who actually operate the Telegram app, but it is now proposed to archive any discussion of the same on the article's talk page. Censorship under the guise of deletionism! NRPanikker (talk) 14:08, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
- That sounds interesting. If you would be willing to find the since removed material and any sources backing up those claims, I'd take a look at them. If not on this talk page, feel free to put that information on my talk page. Somers-all-the-time (talk) 21:48, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
