He never lived in Greece

[edit]

He never lived in Greece. We should drop calling him Greek from the lead and removed him from any Greek categories. These are categories for people who were nationals of Greece which he was not.John Pack Lambert (talk) 03:22, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lead is wrong

[edit]

The lead is wrong. Proselantos did not luve in "modern Greece". He lived in the Rwpublic of Venice, the 1st French Republic/1st French Empire and the United States of the Ionian Islands. He was rmethnically a Greek sculptor, but not a Greek national. We need to stop Co floating nationality and ethnicity in categories.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:00, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

He's described as Greek in numerous sources, which is what is needed to be considered defining. Every source I've looked at called him Greek, including auction houses https://www.roseberys.co.uk/a0392-lot-467509 Do you have sources saying that he was not Greek?
