Move proposal[edit]

The syntax of the name Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice would be legitimate in English (cf. Washington University in St. Louis). However, the short form Pavol Jozef Šafárik University is also used by the university itself (e.g., here). It seems appropriate to keep the short form as the article title, as for example for Northumbria University. Doremo (talk) 02:06, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OK. It depends on whether it is prefered (full) official name of the school or most common name (in English). Pavol Jozef Šafárik University is sufficient as far as there is no other university with same name (there used to be Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Prešov, now University of Presov). Syntax <Name of University> in <City> is officiality in Slovakia (which looks quite strange in case of schools named after cities, like Prešovská univerzita v Prešove – verbatim Prešov's University in Prešov), that's why many universities/colleges translate its name to English in this way (except ones named after cities, e.g. Trnava University, University of Žilina, University of Presov).--Lišiak (talk) 02:45, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
