The oppose argument is not valid here since the combined name is the same as the individual names. Also, the combined name is generic so it is not confusing when added to the parks cats. It is really one park, one place, just administered by 2 agencies. -- P 1 9 9 • TALK 16:38, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think this was a bad decision, and despite your claim that the same name applies, the fact that there are two different agencies in two different companies overrides the "but they have the same name logic". Should Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas me similarly merged? Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park is similarly attached to Glacier Bay Nationial Monument, ditto again Waterton-Glacier and also between BC there's Kakwa-Willard of whatever it's called (in the angle of the BC-AB boundary). Bad logic, bad decision.Skookum1 (talk) 17:00, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sorry for going against your opinion, but there were more reasons to merge than the one I stated above: 1) There was a lot of duplication between the 2 articles. 2) The State Park already redirected here, so if there is no issue with that, why then for the Provincial Park? 3) But mostly, content and Wikiproject tags show that the two articles were used interchangeably by editors, clearly creating confusion. -- P 1 9 9 • TALK 23:40, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Coordinate precision

[edit]

A recent edit complained about inaccurate geocoordinates. Correctness is important; we should also be mindful of WP:COORDPREC. This is about a 170,000 square meter area, not a particular landmark in that area. Given which I would like to argue that 1′′ is 27 m at 45 degrees latitude should be the criterion. One second precision is more than adequate for the park which by reckoning is over 100 meters wide at its narrowest point. ☆ Bri (talk) 18:20, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently used as a meeting place during COVID closures (when weather permits)

That's sweet. But the next day, they closed down the Canada side[2] and that still seems to be the case as of November.[3] I think it's still a human interest aspect of Peace Arch Park worth mentioning.[4][5][6] Schazjmd (talk) 00:46, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
