Fair use rationale for Image:Peiweilogo.gif[edit]

Image:Peiweilogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:43, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is only one Pei Wei in a Mid-Atlantic state. I'm therefore editing the sentence about them being concentrated in southwest and mid-atlantic. 72.130.136.192 21:29, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pei Wei Asian DinerPei Wei Asian Eatery – This is a request from the Pei Wei marketing team. They have changed their name from Pei Wei Asian Diner to Pei Wei Asian Eatery. I2ichard (talk) 16:01, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nomination. Since that is the new name, it is only appropriate that Wikipedia should update its main title header. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 22:10, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment – The company has yet to release a press release concerning their recent name change and no news service has yet to mention the new name. Their company's website stills mentions "Dinner" and not "Eatery". I would not recommend a change until the announcement has "official" been published in the mainstream media since Wikipedia is not a press release site and should not be used to "create" news but reflected what has already been published per WP:SOURCE. Below is what I found via Google. 68.45.25.137 (talk) 02:55, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    • Aten, Tim (March 22, 2017). "In the Know: 2 more eateries launch at Restaurant Row". Naples Daily News. Restaurant Row finally lives up to its name this week... multitenant building it shares with Pei Wei Asian Diner...
  • Comment – It has been not quite a week since Pei Wei's marketing team had made a request to Wikipedia to have the name of their article changed, but Pei Wei has yet to release a press release or make an announcement with the established news media. A quick search for "Pei Wei Asian Eatery" name change on Google News search yields nothing. In contrast, if the same search is performed for "Qdoba Mexican Eats" name change, several dozen news articles pop-up in publications and/or news media sites that include Motley Fool, Nation's Restaurant News, and QSR magazine. Until their name change gets reported in the mainstream news media outlet, I would recommend not changing the name of the article or even mention the name change in the article itself until the claim could be supported per WP:SOURCE. 68.45.25.137 (talk) 22:10, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Out of curiosity, what does the name "pei wei" mean?

Does it have a cooking, food, or food service connotation? 184.103.12.140 (talk) 20:59, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
