I question the use of ignominious existence. This is a value judgement that is unbalanced. What is the source.

The other point of view was that she was instrumental to improving the life chance of generations of boys who without her would not have led successful lives in the Merchant or Royal Navy. Her role at Upnor prevented her being broken for scrap so she could be bought by her current owners. ClemRutter 01:12, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nice change- does the infobox need a title? ClemRutter (talk) 09:57, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Pekingship.jpg

[edit]

Image:Pekingship.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

WikiProject Military history/Assessment/Tag & Assess 2008

[edit]

Removed Military History tag as subject of the article was not a military vessel and was never used as such. It was awarded as part of reparations, but is not notable for that reason. --dashiellx (talk) 20:11, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A short scene in The Secret of My Success (1987 film) is set on the Peking. It shows the main character on his first date with his future girlfriend. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.189.21.109 (talk) 19:48, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thoughts on the reconstruction and the new museum

[edit]

At the moment commented out. Great idea but needs to be more focussed and copyedited. ClemRutter (talk) 17:48, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
